Despite their numbers, they were formidable, employing tactics of mass sabotage, rapid strikes, and expert covert operations, honed to perfection during Corax's revolution against the Tech Guilds of Kiavahr​​.Corax's upbringing on Deliverance shaped the Raven Guard's future. His revolutionary actions against the oppressive Tech Guilds of Kiavahr were marked by no mercy for the captors and a brutal, short war. His cunning in battle led to the renaming of Lycaeus to Deliverance, symbolizing the liberation from slavery. The dark tower that once held the oppressors became the Raven Guard's fortress, named the Ravenspire, and the source of their future strength during the Great Crusade​​.The Horus Heresy brought devastation to the Raven Guard.
