Frenchmen Matthieu Pavon captured the title with a cluth shot from the rough into the 18th green at Torrey Pines. The leaderboard had a heavy international contingent as the rookie Pavon birdied the 18th to win the by a stroke over fellow tour rookie Nicolai Hojgaard.
