Description
In this episode I’m looking at the Mob Wife Aesthetic, what it is, why it started and why at times it kind of looks like classism because some of the comments on the trend are a little too dismissive.
As well as giving my take on the reaction to the trend, I reached out to former guest, Brooklyn-born, New York-based makeup artist Isabel Rosado. She is someone who isn’t just a fan of iconic Mob Wives or girlfriends such as Adriana La Cerva, a key character from The Sopranos – Isabel has worn the look in various iterations since her teen years.
I also check in with my London born and bred friend Keisha Rachele who shares her love for the aesthetic and links it to her own style memories of growing up in Notting Hill.
I'd love to know your thoughts, especially if you're from the UK and have also noticed some similarities! DM me at @beautymepodcast on X or Instagram and be sure to check my videos on the trend over on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@charissekenion
