In late June of 2023, 39-year-old Amber Arnett contacted her mother, Marty, asking if she could stay with her at her home for a bit. Amber expressed that she didn’t feel safe where she had been living. Marty was away on a trip and told her daughter that she would be home late the following day. Marty expected to see or hear from Amber after she returned to Lansing, Michigan, but she never heard from her daughter again. The days began to pass, and Marty still had not heard from Amber.
