Description

Retired Agent Barbara Verica reviews her espionage assignment working as a first-time, untrained, undercover agent (UCA) in Manhattan, gathering intelligence and the evidence to prove that Norwegian diplomat Arne Treholt was selling secrets to the former Soviet Union. The investigation was initiated on behalf of the Norwegian security service who had received information that Treholt, assigned as a member of the Norwegian delegation to the United Nations, was a spy. Barbara’s assignment—move into the apartment next door and track Treholt’s movements. But things quickly became much more complex when Barbara became friends with Treholt's wife. Barbara served in the FBI for 30 years.  This case review is a do-over of the missing Episode 18, removed from the back catalog a few years ago.   Check out episode show notes, photos, and related articles: https://jerriwilliams.com/304-barbara-verica-tracking-arne-treholt-soviet-spy/     Buy me a coffee - https://www.buymeacoffee.com/JerriWilliams   Join my Reader Team to get the FBI Reading Resource - Books about the FBI, written by FBI agents, the 20 clichés about the FBI Reality Checklist, and keep up to date on the FBI in books, TV, and movies via my monthly email.
