Description

We’re joined by Jenny McKay, the Reverend Vet, who has been approached by Australian animal welfare agencies working with the only organisation in the Gaza Strip that rescues stray animals called Sulala Animal Rescue. Jenny is appealing to everybody to think of animals that get caught in the ‘crossfire’ in war. Animals in Gaza need help! The World Health Organisation recognises that aid - medication, food and water needs to be supplied for all animals, pets and livestock - as an urgent appeal the the link to donate is below! We chat about Jenny’s role as a vet - being a pathologist screening biopsies for cancer cells. And as a huge cat lover, Jenny talks about why cats make great pets. Jenny also hosts animal blessings where she's blessed a snail along with hamsters, chickens, rabbits and many cats and dogs. Jenny believes in humanity and the role animals play in helping us become human. Dogs. They’re companions, guardians, and much much more – they complete us. And they just might save us from ourselves. Anna Webb explores all levels of modern dog ownership and brings to life why every dog is extraordinary. She speaks to scientists and experts - people who have and are changing our understanding of dogs - on everything from emotional intelligence to nutrition to behaviour, delving deep into subjects like homeopathy, telepathic communication and the pet food scandal. It's thought provoking, alternative, and not a little subversive. Cover photo by @Gruffpawtraits
