Description

What happens when traditional Catholic theology clashes with modern interpretations in the liturgy? Join us as we embark on an enlightening exploration of the Novus Ordo Mass and the implications it has on our faith. We'll compare it with the Traditional Latin Mass, known for its fervor and reverence, challenging our listeners to experience both and feel the stark contrast. As we journey through this discourse, we'll spotlight how changes in the English liturgy have induced a shift in doctrine, a trend that seems to be ominously surfacing today. We'll also delve into the intricate details of the TLM's rubrics and the significance of altar placements, reflecting on how these dimensions can shape the faith experience. Our exploration will reveal how the Novus Ordo Mass, with its flexible rubrics, has led to considerable variations in Church services. This, we fear, may lead to a de facto schism, with Catholics 'church hopping' akin to Protestant traditions. As we traverse these discussions, we'll also share insights into the Eucharist as a communal meal, reminding us of our place in the Father's family. Finally, we'll journey through traditional Catholic theology, exploring the theology of Sacrosanctum Concilium and its relevance to the Novus Ordo Mass. We'll discuss the concept of sin and justice against God, reflecting on the importance of the sacrificial system. Engage with us as we share our passion for the traditional Latin Mass, its profound impact, and the beauty of our faith. We promise this episode will challenge your perspectives and deepen your understanding of Catholic liturgy.********************************************************https://www.avoidingbabylon.comLocals Community:  https://avoidingbabylon.locals.comStore:  https://avoiding-babylon.sellfy.store/RSS Feed for Podcast Apps: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1987412.rssSpiritusTV:  https://spiritustv.com/@avoidingbabylonRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-1626455Odysee:  https://odysee.com/@AvoidingBabylonBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! Start for FREE Support the showCheck out our new store!

Avoiding Babylon was started during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. During these difficult and dark days, when most of us were isolated from family, friends, our parishes, and even the Sacraments themselves, this channel was started as a statement of standing against the tyrannical mandates that many of us were living under. Since those early days, this channel has morphed into an amazing community of friends…no…more than friends…Christian brothers and sisters…who have grown in joy and charity. As we see it, our job here at Avoiding Babylon is to remind ourselves and those who enjoy the channel that being Catholic is a joyful and exciting experience. We seek true Catholic fraternity and eutrapelia with other Catholics who, like us, are doing their best to live out their vocation with the help of God’s Grace.  Above all, we try to bring humor and joy to the craziness of this fallen world, for as Hillaire Belloc has famously said:“Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine,There’s always laughter and good red wine.At least I’ve always found it so.Benedicamus Domino!”
