So, you are reading for a client (or a friend, relative, someone at a party . . .) and a king shows up in the middle of your spread, much like a giant boulder appearing in the middle of the road as you are driving late at night. What do you do? How do you make sense of a court card when what you really want is a nice descriptive card with someone doing something in a scene that makes sense?   Becky and I sat down and discussed the kings in the tarot and how they show up in real-life readings; and what that means to you. We looked at the traditional meanings, and then in great detail went into the various meanings kings have when they show up - but more important: how to know what a king means no matter what spread yo cast and what question it is answering.
