Stefan Nystrand is a former Swedish competitive swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle. He swam in 4x Olympics, placing as high as 4th in the 50 Freestyle, and became the 2nd person to break 48 behind Pieter van den Hoogenband.
Nystrand gained recognition in the swimming world for his exceptional speed and straight arm technique while going against the grain in terms of training - doing less than 20,000 meters per week.
