Volumes have been written about President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and British PM Winston Churchill. But what about the women who raised them?
A new book tells the fascinating story of their mothers, Sara Delano Roosevelt and Jennie Churchill. Both natives of Brooklyn, NY, they would go onto take two very different paths and raise their famous sons in completely different ways.
Mosheh speaks with Charlotte Grey, the author of “Passionate Mothers, Powerful Sons,” about the matriarchs and their impact on the two men credited with defeating Hitler and saving democracy. We dive into the moms’ influence, as well as some of the more intriguing anecdotes, including Sara’s obsession with her son and how it impacted his marriage to Eleanor Roosevelt.
