Old pubs, flat-roofed pubs, pubs that date back centuries. However, the hidden gem of UK pubs is arguably the desi pub: a place that grew out of attempts to break the racist colour bar of the 1960s which often meant non-white customers were refused service. These pubs, predominantly ran by British-Indian landlords, may not be the most well known, but they are some of the best in the country.
