Description

Dr. Ma Ying-jeou, former president of the Republic of China (Taiwan), has been studying the dynamic across the Strait for over 30 years. In 2015, Dr. Ma met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Singapore, the first face-to-face meeting between leaders from both sides of the Taiwan Strait since the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. In an interview recorded on October 18, 2023, Dr. Ma shares insights and recommends solutions based on his personal experiences to the current sharp tensions in U.S.-China and cross-strait relations.  About the speaker: https://www.ncuscr.org/event/ma-ying-jeou/ Read the transcript: https://www.ncuscr.org/video/ma-ying-jeou/ Subscribe to the National Committee on YouTube for video of this interview.
