(10/19/23) Markets traded off the 20-DMA, with traders trapped in a narrowing price compression range between support on the 200-DMA at 4,020 and resistance at about the 4,500 level. Earnings are supporting markets are supported on one side, interest rate concerns and War in the Middle East are weighing on markets from the other side. We're anticipating additional support for markets in November when stock buy backs can resume, and, provided the mega-cap companies have good things to say over the next couple of weeks, their earnings reports and forward guidance should also prove to buoy markets.
