Description

Donald Trump's civil fraud trial in New York has begun, and he predictably started the day with dangerous rhetoric directed at the Judge and New York Attorney General Letitia James. Specifically, Trump said people should "go after the Attorney General." On a lighter note, one of Trump's attorney's, Christopher Kise (who was previously sanctioned by the judge for his conduct in the pretrial litigation in this case), said in his opening statement that there is no such thing as an "objective valuation" for property. Glenn says - perhaps not, but there is rampant, transparent and obvious fraud, as reflected in Trump's absurd and inconsistent valuations of his properties. Then Judge Arthur Engoron - in a long overdue development, FINALLY placed a limited restriction on Trump's speech and posts. He was angry after Trump posted a picture of his law clerk taken with Senator Chuck Schumer. Trump was mocking the picture claiming the law clerk was "Schumer's girlfriend" and insisting that his fraud case should therefore be dismissed. Shortly thereafter, Judge Engoron announced that he was issuing a "gag order" saying, "personal attacks on my members of my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate and I will not tolerate them under any circumstances.” The judge also said that "serious sanctions" will follow if Trump violates his order.Glenn says let's hope this opens the floodgates, inspiring other judges to do what the law allows by restricting Trump's thus-far-unabated dangerous, reckless false speech and posts that endanger witnesses and poison jury pools. For our Team Justice and Justice Matters merchandise visit:https://shop.spreadshirt.com/glennkir...Please consider becoming a #TeamJustice patron at: https://www.patreon.com/glennkirschnerCheck out Glenn's website at glennkirschner.comFollow Glenn on:Threads: https://www.threads.net/glennkirschner2Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/glennkirschner2Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glennkirschner2Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glennkirsch...See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
