One of the most influential women in ophthalmology today, Adrienne Graves, PhD has exceled in nearly every aspect of the industry, from research to industry to nonprofits.While many know Dr. Graves from her executive experience—which includes eight years as CEO of Santen and board positions with over a dozen ophthalmology companies—she got her start as a scientist.Her work in visual neuroscience got the attention of Alcon, where she was hired to set up the company’s first Retinal Electrophysiology Lab. “It was the best decision of my life,” she tells podcast host Rob Rothman, MD (even though she did have to move from Paris, France, to Fort Worth, Texas).
