Description

College Football insider Tom Luginbill joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line talking about Texas A&M with Bobby Petrino, QB's at Texas and Alabama and tough workouts in football training live in the BankPlus Studio. Tom talks about Bobby Petrino calling plays at Texas A&M and notes that the most important aspect of the coach change is that they will mainly be running Petrino's offense. Tom talks about the level of talent Jimbo and Petrino are working with at A&M and says they have the players and the play caller to pull off a surprising season. Bo and Tom talk about the Texas A&M and Miami game in week two of the season and compare how each team is in a similar situation with a necessity to succeed. Bo asks Tom if Texas is due this season and Tom talks about Texas' biggest problem is the ability to handle success. Tom says this is the most talented roster the Longhorns have had in a decade and if they can avoid losing the easy games then they can go far in the Big 12. Tom talks about his thoughts are Texas QB Quinn Ewers and says he needs to be able to compose himself when things aren't going their way in the games. Bo talks about Vanderbilt transfer Mike Wright making strides at Mississippi State and Tom talks about the process of making the choice to mature. Tom says he believes Wright can be a success at MSU if he takes the time to study the game. Bo and Tom talk about the QB situation at Alabama and Tom lists reasons why Jalen Milroe is the default option for Nick Saban. Tom believes that Jalen Milroe is the most difficult QB to defend but also thinks that Nick Saban and the staff will play everyone else if they think they need to. Bo and Tom look at Payton Thorne as the starting QB at Auburn and Tom talks about his experience fighting for a spot with a returning starter. Tom tells Bo that he didn't finish "Swamp Kings" on Netflix because it seemed like they didn't cross the line like everyone thought they would. Tom talks about the old school style workouts that Urban Meyer put teams through and believes that it is very beneficial for programs and players
