Description
We continue this week with the concluding set from the band's performance on July 25, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois. Things start out with a standalone 'Scarlet Begonias', including some very nice guitar work from Jerry, then they go into a really rockin' 'Big River. A sweet Roses follows with Jerry in good voice. Following 'Jack Straw' they go into one of the few '74 Dark Stars - this one quite cosmic - that goes deep into space land. Towards the end you can hear the 'Slipknot' theme, before they break into a sweet 'Stella Blue'. A rockin' 'Johnny B. Goode' comes out of Stella, which leads into 'Uncle John's Band'. While not really a jamming song, this one has some very nice riffs and leads into 'US Blues'. While the show took place on Thursday, they close the set with 'One More Saturday Night'. 'Ship of Fools' is an unusual encore choice, but ends a very interesting evening of music.
