Today we talk about a folk art called hobo nickels. Started as early as the 1800s, this kind of carving has made its place in our cultural fabric here in the United states. In this episode I interchangeably use the words engrave, sculpt, and carve, but in fact, this is a type of carving. I wanted to clear that up so that no one said the wrong thing in mixed company.
