Description

Steven Sund, Former Capitol Police Chief begged and pleaded with the Pentagon to send troops to the Capitol. They refused for hours—troops didn’t arrive until the clash was ending. Intelligence told Sund it would be a low risk demonstration, but Pelosi and Gen. Milley were in communication in days before Jan. 6 and asks why such dire concern before the 6th, but the Congressional leadership wouldn’t bring in the Guard. Sund asked for the National Guard several times as early as Jan. 3rd. Sund was told Pelosi didn’t like the optics of troops on the streets. Sund was cut out of intel briefings and thinks there was something nefarious behind all this. He asks about FBI agents in the crowd—but Sund wasn’t told. What were they doing? What was Ray Epps role? The Pentagon wouldn’t give Sund quick approval for troops. But with the Capitol under attack, the Pentagon sent troops to the Generals’ homes but wouldn’t send them to the Capitol.  GUEST: STEVEN SUND, FMR CAPITOL POLICE CHIEF & AUTHOR OF “COURAGE UNDER FIRE”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
