Fueled by a desire to change the world, Rudolf Diesel spent his early adulthood refining an idea for an internal combustible engine that used pressurized air to heat fuel. Despite selling his “Diesel Engines” worldwide, he was in tremendous debt, which made his disappearance from a steamship in September 1913 all the more mysterious.
