Description
Director Phil Hawkins and producer Alexandra Bentley talk to us about their UKTI Talent Goes To Hollywood win and the experiences of the subsequent trip to Los Angeles to meet key figures to pitch their film Baptism - an adaptation of the Max Kinnings novel of the same name.
Plot: An armed group take control of a rush hour underground tube train. They blow a hole through the tunnel to release the water from an underground river they believe is blessed and will baptise the passengers of their sins. Ed Mallory, a blind hostage negotiator, has a race against time to try and talk down the hostage takers and save the lives of everyone onboard.
It was also an opportunity to discuss the wider role of UKTI and British filmmakers developing their products overseas
Here's the teaser trailer they made that turned heads both in the UK and USA http://www.philm.co.uk/portfolio/baptism-spec-trailer/
