Mississippi musician Steve Azar joins the show live in the mobile BankPlus Studio talking about the twelfth annual Delta Soul Celebrity Golf & Charity Event benefitting the St Cecilia Foundation. Steve talks about the big night at Doe's and his bartending skills that he broke out at the Walnut Street Blues Club. Steve talks about the golf tournament and his twelve years of running one of the most unique charity events in Mississippi. Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover joins the show live in the mobile BankPlus Studio talking about his career as an international rockstar and sports fan. Shawn talks about growing up in Canada as a Montreal Expos fan as well as a big hockey fan, which might be required by law in Canada. Shawn discusses the upcoming drop of a new album that he's been working on since COVID began. Shawn talks about his US fandom since moving to Atlanta, where he somehow has become a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Shawn talks about his favorite drummer of all time, Neil Peart of Rush, and some of the drummers that influenced his own career. NFL veteran and CBS analyst Steve Beuerlein joins the show live in the mobile BankPlus Studio talking about his career as an NFL quarterback and analyst. Steve talks about his college years playing for Lou Holtz at Notre Dame, and how he credits Coach Holtz with saving his football career in his senior season. Steve discusses being drafted into the NFL by the then Las Angeles Raiders and how owner Al Davis didn't want him to be the starter. Steve talks about playing for Jimmy Johnson for the Dallas Cowboys, who he faced in college as the coach of the Miami Hurricanes, and helping to win the Super Bowl in 1993. Steve talks about moving on to be the starter in Arizona before being drafted in the expansion draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, and then heading to Carolina, where he had a Pro Bowl season in 1999. Steve shares some incredible stories from his time playing at Notre Dame, from facing Miami in the historic "Convicts Versus Catholics" rivalry to battling against blue blood programs like Michigan and Southern Cal. Steve discusses taking on LSU in Death Valley and losing to eventual National Champion Penn State by just four points. Steve talks about going undefeated against Southern Cal in his four seasons at Notre Dame and growing up as a UCLA fan as a California kid, the school he first committed to out of high school. Steve talks about how his choosing Notre Dame opened the door for Troy Aikman to go to UCLA the following season. Steve gives his thoughts on the great Southern food he's been introduced to this weekend during his first trip to the great state of Mississippi.
