Happy Fleet Week, NYC! 
 
The 35th annual nautical event has already kicked off, welcoming ships of Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen to Staten Island and Manhattan. Janice is joined by several Fleet Week experts on this episode to help her celebrate the iconic occasion.
 
Regional President of the USO Northeast, Rebecca Parkes sets the stage for what the USO is doing in celebration of Fleet week, sharing how the organization is hosting a series of programs for service members to relax and enjoy their time in New York. Then, the President of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Susan Marenoff-Zausner emphasizes how veteran and current service members and the stories told about them is what makes Fleet Week so special.
 
Later, President of the New York Council Navy League and U.S. Navy Captain Frank Russo reminds listeners that while Memorial Day can act as a kickoff for summer, it's truly for remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice of protecting our country.
