In total, Rebbe Akiva had 24,000 students who were devoted to him and devoted to the Almighty. However, tragedy struck when a plague killed all 24,000 students. This was a massive blow to Rebbe Akiva and Jewish tradition, as it meant that much knowledge would be lost with the passing of these great students. Despite this tragedy, Rebbe Akiva continued to teach Torah and was able to pass his teachings on to future generations. His story is a testament to the strength and resilience of Judaism in the face of adversity.
