In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio talking Pac-12 spring football with six more spring games occurring over the weekend including the sellout for the Colorado Buffaloes, 45,000+ fans to watch the debut of Coach Prime in Boulder. Despite four inches of snow falling and the field needing to be cleared, the Buffalos spring game spectacle went on as planned with ESPN broadcasting the entire event over two hours on Saturday afternoon. From one of the worst teams in college football history last season, Colorado now has a new sense of hope with the excitement around the program at historic levels, matching the increase in talent that Deion Sanders has brought in.
There were also five other Pac-12 spring games scheduled over the weekend with Washington, Washington State, Oregon State and Utah completing their spring with various events on Pac-12 Network plus Stanford holding more of a televised practice with three more spring practices left for Troy Taylor's squad. We also look back at the Arizona State spring that we didn't get to on last week's show.
The guys also talk about the latest reports regarding the Pac-12 media rights deal that suggests the conference could go with Apple holding all of the conference's tier one rights and a linear television partner that could be the CW. There is also a new lawsuit filed against the Pac-12 regarding the firings of a pair of former conference executives, Oregon State AD Scott Barnes is in stable condition after being hospitalized over the weekend, no more clock stoppages after a first down plus USC lands a five-star defensive tackle out of the NCAA Transfer Portal.
