The Los Angeles Angels had quite an ugly weekend of baseball against the Boston Red Sox, dropping 3 straight games due to sloppy play, errors, miscues, and a lack of offense on Sunday. After 3 errors between Anthony Rendon and Luis Rengifo chased Patrick Sandoval out of Friday's game early, the Halos ended up losing 5-3 after surrendering 4 unearned runs. Mike and Jon talk about what went wrong and how the Halos need to clean it up in segment 1!
Then, Saturday's game saw the Angels finding a brand new way to lose on catcher's interference, as Matt Thaiss's two interferences caused the Angels to lose their close lead late in the game. While the news of the day should have been Zach Neto's callup and Gio Urshela's first-inning grand slam, any good news quickly went out the window. Mike and Jon will share their thoughts on the game in segment 2.
Plus, if it's not one thing, it's another with this team, and Reid Detmer's impressive 6.1 inning start went for naught, as the Halos couldn't muster up any offense to outperform the Red Sox and their narrow 2-1 lead. So, we're asking, after a disastrous weekend, who should be held accountable? Is this something that manager Phil Nevin ought to be responsible for, and if so, how should he address it with the players and coaching staff?
