Today, we're broadcasting live from the Annual Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police Convention at the Amway Grand Plaza in Downtown Grand Rapids. Throughout the show we were joined by some of the great first responders from across the State of Michigan to talk about the Chiefs of Police mission, to let people know how to they can get involved, and so much more. We also talked about the Super Bowl, Red Wings and Griffins Hockey, the Grand Rapids Gold, and more. We kicked off the show with Luke Sherman who is in charge of the First Responders program with Folds of Honor. He joined Huge to talk about Folds opening up their foundation to the children of First Responders who are hurt or killed in the line of duty. We were then joined by Bob Stevenson who is the Executive Director for the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and Kim Koster who is the Director of Public Safety/Police Chief for Wyoming. They joined Huge to talk about their need for people to join the force, different positions available, informed us how how you can get involved, and much more. In our second hour, we were joined by Mike Knuble who is the Assistant Coach of the Grand Rapids Griffins. He and Huge talked about how the Griffins and Wings are doing at this point in the season, discussed a Purple Community Event happening at Southside Arena this weekend, which will raise funds for Van Andel Institute Cancer & Parkinson's research. We were then joined by Chief Jon Gale who is the Chief of Police for Norton Shores. He told us about how Law Enforcement is reaching out to Children, discussed recruiting for Norton Shores, and much more. We wrapped up the hour with Mike McCann who is the Senior Director of Law Enforcement Relations, and Larry Weeks who is the Chief of Police for Eaton Rapids. They joined Huge to talk about why they dedicated their lives to Law Enforcement, the Chiefs of Police having 4,000 job openings, and much more. We kicked off the final hour talking some basketball with Trey Conner, the Vice President of the Grand Rapids Gold. He and Huge talked about the tonight and tomorrow's games for the GR Gold downtown, discussed their favorite NBA players of all time, and much more. We were then joined by our good friend Johnny Brann Sr. from "Voice for the Badge." He told us about his love and respect for the Military and Law Enforcement, discussed "Voice for the Badge" and their mission, and more. We were then joined by Ron Wiles who is the Chief of Police for Grand Blanc and the Deputy Director of the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police. He joined Huge to talk about his commitment to community and Law Enforcement, the need for more people, and much more.
