Description
When you write anything, you usually decide on how to write that thing based on how it feels in the world. What is the emotional connection? Does this thing I am writing contain movement? Do I need to describe it in a certain way because the way it expresses itself is temporal? Action is one of these things that looks a certain way in the world, so there seems to be one evident way to write action. You write action step by step through the sequence of events that make up the action. But what if that was not the best way to look at action? What if we could describe action in a way that didn't make us feel like phony writers? Today on How to Write Good, I am going to talk about a new way to look at action. I think it is a much better way because it maintains the integrity of your writing.
