Dylan Larkin signed an 8-year extension with Detroit worth $8.7M a year, locking down the captain for good, while offering the team roster stability and a culture to build around. A day prior the Red Wings signed Jake Walman to a 3-year contract with a $3.5M AAV, giving the Defenseman a well deserved pay bump while offering him the oppurtunity to play for a raise in the UFA while still in his prime. But then Steve Yzerman shocked us all. He traded recently injured Filip Hronek and a 2023 4th round pick to the Vancouver Canucks for a 2023 1st rounder (NYI) and a 2023 2nd. At first shock set in, but then clarity. This deal is a steal, and we the Red Wings got a lot of flexibility in more ways than one with the deal. #lgrw
