The Purim story reminds us that everything, even events beyond our control, ultimately happens with Hashem's will. As we learn from the Vilna Gaon, it was no coincidence that Achashverosh and his kingdom uprooted themselves to settle in Shushan - the same small town where a pious Jew named Mordechai lived. This was part of Hashem's plan to save the Jewish people from Haman's genocidal plot. This reminder is especially poignant as we approach Purim.
