Description

"By all means move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me." We watched The Devil Wears Prada (2006) with our friend Paul from That Aged Well podcast and we need 10 or 15 skirts from Calvin Klein. Rigt NOW. We're not here to weigh the likeability of one miss Anne Hathaway.  (We're her for her. Deal with it.) We are here to discuss Miranda Priestly as she is expertly inhabited by the incomparable Meryl Streep.  Miranda may be the boss from hell but let's be real, we would all throw our grandma down the stairs for the opportunity to work for her. The fact that she would read us to filth on a daily basis is just a bonus. The movie may be giving us mixed messages about how it wants us to feel about Andy (Hathaway) and the choices she makes during her time at Runway magazine but we can all agree on one thing... her boyfriend and rotted friend group are the real villains. Let's be real here - we would have gotten out of the limo and stayed with Miranda in Paris. Oh and the supporting cast?  Emily Blunt's garage door eye shadow is a serve and Stanley Tucci starts a career defining arc of the put upon second banana. Is he playing the actual twin brother of his character in Burlesque?  This movie spawned a thousand memes and we quote it on the regular, proving once again - Meryl is gay rights.  Thats all.

This is the podcast where we watch a movie from our past that had a lasting impression on our little gay lives.  If we had no business watching it - we stole our parents VHS copy and watched under the cover of night.  If a diva gave a rousing speech - we memorized it and lip-synced it at a talent show.  Join Scott and Pete each week for a look back at the Movies That Made Us Gay!
