The Cincinnati Reds have two open rotation spots and about eight guys competing for them. The Reds should focus more on the rookies getting the bulk of the innings on the mound and not re-tread veterans. Brandon Williamson and Levi Stoudt need to be given every opportunity to pitch for the Reds in 2023. When it comes to the bullpen, same deal. The Reds should focus on Ricky Karcher, Casey Legumina, and maybe even non-roster guys like Tyron Guerrero and Alex Young over some other waiver claim pitchers. Also, defense MUST improve for the Reds to improve this season.
