The EU's adoption of the European Climate Law will soon cost non-complying EU and non-EU companies a significant amount. The law proposes a GHG emissions reduction target of 55% (compared to 1990 levels), which is to be achieved by 2030. Between 1990 and 2021, only a 24% reduction has been achieved, leaving a whopping 31% to reduce in only 8 years. The pressure to become more sustainable is mounting, and with supply chains generally being responsible for the majority of the emissions a company produces, supply chain leaders are burdened with the challenge of rapidly accelerating their sustainability agendas.
