He went off to college to become a mechanical engineer, and built a career in the field, but never forgot about pipes. He realized that a great deal of engineering goes into the making of a pipe, and in 2019 started researching pipe making. Then in 2020 he started making pipes. This time influenced by Hugh Hefner. He even started with Mixture 79, but he's come a long way since then. Dave is also one of the first members of the Pipes Magazine Forums, having joined in May 2009 when the site was only a few months old, and he is still an active participant.
