Description
On this edition of The Movie Podcast, Daniel and Shahbaz are joined by MÁIRÉAD TYERS, SOFIA OXENHAM, BILAL HASNA, & LUKE ROLLASON of EXTRAORDINARY on Disney+. Following their discussion, Daniel, Shahbaz, & Anthony review the series from creator Emma Moran. Ten years ago, everyone over the age of 18 got their superpower. But Jen (Máiréad), a painfully self-aware 25-year-old woman, is still waiting to get hers. She’d take anything at this point. Adrift in a big, confusing world and armed with nothing but a bit of hope, a lot of desperation and her flatmates (Sofia, Bilal, & Luke ), Jen begins her journey to find her maybe-superpower. But in doing so, she might discover the joy of being just kind of ok. Dads Review (TIFF 2019): TIFF: Dads is a joyful exploration of contemporary fatherhood. The film draws on the testimonies of famous funnymen such as Judd Apatow, Will Smith, Jimmy Fallon, Neil Patrick Harris, Kenan Thompson, Jimmy Kimmel, and Ken Jeong. Their reflections are combined with portraits of non-celebrity dads from different parts of the world. Note from Daniel: I was lucky to have watched "Dads" with my own Dad and to see the reflections on his face of the trials and tribulations he faced in fatherhood was extremely moving. Also, Ron Howard himself replied to me on Twitter how proud he was of Bryce for this film. It truly was a night to go down in history. by The Movie Podcast
