Thomas Haines was a 50-year-old industrial supplies local sales manager, while his 47-year-old wife Lisa was a preschool teacher at Lancaster Brethren Preschool. The couple had a 20-year-old daughter named Maggie who had just completed her sophomore year at Bucknell University where she was studying biology and a 16-year-old son named Kevin who was a sophomore at Manheim Township High School. The family was a loving one, with the parents willing to help their children in any way they could.
