Our guest in this episode is Katherine Vand who is a graduate of architecture who at the time of recording was working at Core Collective Architects in Tasmania. Kat, and her beautiful Danish accent, received an honourable mention in the 2022 Architecture Australia Unbuilt Prize for her project “A Rare Relation” an interpretation centre for the Antarctic heritage of Tasmania. Kat shares with us why she chose to submit her project to the competition, what she went through designing the project in her final year of university, and why it’s important that architects and the public get exposure to unbuilt projects and the ideas behind them.
