Description

This week it's Mary vs James Bond, a franchise she never really got into or grew up with, but Dennis did and always liked, especially the films starring Roger Moore. This movie is a mess, from its central premise to its ridiculous title. On the one hand, Moore is too old, the plot is nonsense, the India segment is at Temple of Doom levels of cultural insensitivity, there’s a French guy playing a deposed Afghan prince, and it’s arguing against nuclear disarmament. On the other hand, twins murder a clown, there’s a lesbian jungle compound, and the movie is literally called Octopussy, so who’s to say if it’s good or bad.

Titles in the series (100)

Sure, the 1980s were a great decade for film. But have you seen all of them? No, neither has Mary. In fact, some pretty big films passed her by, what with being in kindergarten at the time: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Moonstruck, My Neighbor Totoro... So it's time to fix that.
