Description
Nebraska had a busy weekend of official visits from transfer portal recruits and the basketball team went up to Minnesota and came back with a victory. The Husker247 Podcast breaks both of these down in its latest episode.
Things kick off with the commitment of Virginia wide receiver Billy Kemp, who announced for the Huskers on Monday night.
The trio of Michael Bruntz, Brian Christopherson and Mike Schaefer discuss the commitment and how Kemp fits, what reasonable expectations are and more. Discussion shifts to the wide receiver room at large and the guys debate who could be in a position to help the Huskers the best in 2023.
From there things move to the offensive line as the Huskers hosted a pair of portal targets over the weekend and things look pretty good for adding one or both of Micah Mazzccua and Walter Rouse. Each lineman made it in over the weekend and the Huskers have the need up front after a tumultuous 2022.
Bruntz explains why Rouse would be among Nebraska’s biggest portal additions and Christopherson explains how adding either would be a boon for a much maligned offensive line — and how the picture changes dramatically for Donovan Raiola if the Huskers walk away with some big recruiting wins.
Things move to the hardwood and a discussion about Nebraska’s basketball team coming through against Minnesota and a preview for a big game against Illinois.
Schaefer predictably makes everyone have predictions for the Illinois game, but doesn’t yell about hype into the microphone.
