Description

We look back at our most-listened to episodes from 2022 by offering some highlights from each.  We considered Reality as Medicine in Episode 2000 from February 3. From a psychological viewpoint, reality is largely a question of adaptation to the truths of our inner and outer worlds.  In Episode 213 from May 12, we looked at Vocation: Answering the Call. Jung said, “In the final analysis, we count for something only because of the essential we embody, and if we do not embody that, life is wasted.” Episode 204 from March 9 was Amor Fati: Love of One’s Fate. In it, we discussed the transformational shift that occurs when we embrace our fate and say the great “yes” to our lives.  In Episode 202, Forgiveness of Fury: Finding a Way Forward from February 16, we offer a psychological definition of forgiveness. We can accept apology and remorse—especially if it has been accompanied by introspection and greater self-understanding. Forgiveness is less about the other than it is about liberation from victimization.  Jungian analyst Donald Kalsched was our guest on Episode 228, which aired on August 25. We discussed Trauma and the Informed Heart. Don is a masterful teacher, and he shared his profound insights with our listeners.  And on January 13, author Connie Zwieg joined us for Episode 197 for The Inner Work of Age: Shifting from Role to Soul. The transition from Hero to Elder, or role to soul, begins with releasing the ego’s identification with doing and reorienting toward the transpersonal center that Jung called the Self.
