Description
Emily Chamlee-Wright joins the podcast this week to talk about socialism. As polls reveal that Generation Z has a much more positive view of socialism than previous generations, and the Democratic candidates line up to promote socialist ideas on their platforms, it’s now more important than ever to discuss whether free is actually free. Emily defines socialism, explains the role of free markets in a free society, and analyzes whether or not young people have a true understanding of the system.Emily Chamlee-Wright is President and CEO of the Institute for Humane Studies, which works with scholars to advance a deeper understanding of ideas in the classical liberal intellectual tradition. Prior to joining IHS in 2016, she served as the Provost and Dean of the College at Washington College, and was previously the Elbert H. Neese Professor of Economics and associate dean at Beloit College. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
