Description

We go ISO with Seth Partnow, NBA analyst for The Athletic and former Milwaukee Bucks Director of Basketball Research. Seth discusses the inner workings of his experience inside the Bucks organization, including how analytical information is passed on to players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, and details why the team was so good this season. He explains the balance front offices must strike between analytics and understanding the game and deciding which data points are most important during the NBA Draft evaluation process. Seth reveals his background, growing up in Alaska, gaining an appreciation for the intricacies of the game while playing in college, becoming a professional poker player, and starting a cross-cultural communications organization with his mom. He also tells us what broadcasters get wrong about analytics, shares the the coolest part about working for an NBA team, and lets us in on the data he'd love to have more access to.
