Description
In today’s episode, I step off the court with NBA player Micah Potter and his wife Elle. Micah is a center for the Utah Jazz after a successful stint with the Pistons and the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the G-Leauge. He was a phenomenal college player at Ohio State and Wisconsin. His amazing wife Elle was a phenomenal volleyball player at Loyola and is now the Head Coach of their relationship! As you will hear, this convo gets raw and real and truly respect and appreciate their level of vulnerability. I was first introduced to Micah and Elle by a mutual friend at Northwestern Mutual. This season I’m exploring what high performers do behind the scenes. I’ve been enjoying fascinating conversations with professional stand-up comedians, magicians, actors, rappers, dancers, YouTubers, athletes, coaches, and everything in between to find out exactly what they do behind the curtain – when the cameras are off and the arenas are empty – to work towards mastery of their craft and to prepare themselves to perform at a world class level. I hope you find their insights, perspectives, and personal strategies as helpful as I do and use what they share to continue to Raise Your Game.Thank you so much for investing your time with us. Season 2, Episode 9: Negative Self-Talk: In the first 6 episodes of Season 2, I teamed up with two good friends to unpack their thoughts, perspectives, and the lessons they learned from my most popular signature stories (stories I tell regularly in my keynotes, workshops, and trainings). In the next 6 episodes I followed the exact same format – except this time – we dissected and discussed 6 rarely told stories that I’ve only shared publicly on a few occasions. In this episode I am joined by my friend David DeWolf, the President and CEO of 3Pillar Global and the best-selling author of The Product Mindset. David and I unpacked a story about the first and only time I ran a marathon… and how the lesson I learned about not allowing negative self-talk to undermined you directly applies to business leadership. You’ll hear this story as I performed it in studio. by Raise Your Game Show with Alan Stein, Jr.
