Noddigaster, brother of famed Mr. Stiks, granted Queen Lavaleen’s request to go free, for the price of the Swan Maiden’s unhatched egg. Apparently a dark force in the Grimmwood is purchasing princesses. Not only does “missing princesses” match exactly the vitally important members of The Damsels that the Nearlies have been tasked to find, but things have become very personal for Lavaleen and her friends having learned this egg has indeed hatched a daughter.
