Description

We take a break from Noirvember to cover the latest film in the possibly dead Terminator franchise: Terminator: Dark Fate. This "true sequel" to Judgement Day features returning characters from that film and brand new characters attempting to thwart the uprising of a new robotic enemy. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns along with Linda Hamilton, trying to cash in on the success of recent soft reboots to popular franchises. While the film's first act is superb, it falls apart in the later acts and becomes the usual CGI mess in the film's bombastic finale. Canadian director Matt Campagna joins Chris to talk about the film's controversial opening scene, where the franchise goes from here, and where the film ranks in the canon. You can follow Chris Stachiw at @Casualty_Chris and the Kulturecast @kulturecast. The music is _91nova's Thunderous. You can also subscribe to the Kulturecast on iTunes here. Also, don’t forget to check out our official Facebook page for news, upcoming reviews, contests, and new content along with our Patreon page.
