Description
The Kulturecast wraps up Stanley Kubrick Month with a film that many have derided as the auteur's most indulgent and meandering: Barry Lyndon. The film follows the roguish titular character, played sleepily by Ryan O'Neal, as he wanders through 18th century England getting involved in a series of adventures and misadventures. It's not regarded as one of Kubrick's finest films but it is widely appreciated as yet another technical masterpiece due to his staunch requirement to film only by natural light. Chris is joined by OughtFive Film's Father Malone to talk about the film, how it's aged since its release, and how it may just be a technical masterpiece. You can follow Chris Stachiw at @KultureStach and the Kulturecast @kulturecast. The music is an original track from Eric Kniss of Wovoka. You can also subscribe to the Kulturecast on iTunes here.
