As we enter the home stretch of our Salute to Westerns, we look at two films that use the Western genre as a blank canvas for telling interesting stories: The Proposition and El Topo. One features Guy Pearce as a Australian outlaw who is tasked with killing his brother played by Danny Huston; the other is a surrealist western by the master auteur Alejandro Jodorowsky.
