Boston Celtics enhance draft pick with a 120-95 destruction of the Brooklyn Nets

BOSTON – The Brooklyn pick hype train has been chugging along steadily this year. But it got a firm kick in the caboose Friday night, as the Celtics danced with a 30-point lead most of the evening during a 120-93 dismantling of the Nets.
Brad Stevens’ defensive juggernaut finally hit its stride offensively, shooting an NBA-season high 58.6 percent from the field. The ball distribution was perfectly balanced, leading to an impressive 39-to-16 assist to turnover ratio.
"Everything obviously was clicking on all cylinders tonight and once again when the ball is going in a lot of great things are going to occur," Evan Turner said. "We had a great game as a basketball team."
Avery Bradley is adapting to his new 6th man role seamlessly, compiling one of his most efficient performances of his career. Bradley scored 21 points on 10-for-13 shooting in just 19 minutes, while also helping hold Nets guards to just 14-for-32 from the field.
"I just feel like coming out with energy," Bradley said about being a 6th man. "Not only that, being able to share the ball and make simple plays got us the lead. In the second half, we just wanted to come out and continue to play the right way.
"We didn’t want to come out sluggish and let them come back, because we knew their coach was going to chew them out, and they were going to come out in the second half and play harder. I feel like we went out there, played hard, shared the ball, and continued to score the ball."
Jae Crowder had another strong performance, making Joe Johnson look like more of a $2 million player than a $22 million player while scoring 19 points himself. Marcus Smart hit his left knee in the second half and left the game with a bruised knee. He is scheduled to get an MRI Saturday.
Gino Time was more than expected from the outset of the fourth quarter by every Celtics fan in the building. But Evan Turner didn't even know it was coming. Watch the video below to see what he said.
