Description
Keep your 6th edition and even 5th! There is treasure in them.
• The lack of basics and knowledge structure of the 7th is a problem for beginners. 6th is huge but it solves that problem by providing a coherent PM taxonomy.
• Process groups and knowledge areas are not going away. They will still be used in industry.
• Chapter 3 on the role of the project manager is a brilliant read for project managers anywhere at anytime.
• Basic definitions of project management are missing in the 7th edition.
• The 7th edition does a poor job of explaining key concepts such as the agile manifesto, the values and the principles, and agile practices.
• The Stacey complexity model is well covered in the agile practice guide.
