Description

Rotting food, farm waste and sewage don’t sound all that appealing, but they’re the bread and butter of the biogas industry – an industry that believes it has a pivotal role to play in providing green solutions to address the energy crisis spurred by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the impending food crisis. Danish company Nature Energy touts itself as the largest producer of biomethane in the world, and has ambitions to invest in new large-scale biogas plants throughout Europe and North America. Alexis Glick, CEO of its North American business, joined the podcast to give her take on the growth outlook for biomethane and how, by turning waste into power, the industry can combat climate change and help countries bolster both their energy and food security. She also discussed how the Inflation Reduction Act is paving the way for new projects in the US, and what other policies are still needed to maximize the potential for green gas. Stick around after the interview for Chris van Moessner with the Market Minute, a look at near-term oil market drivers.
